Trinity Care & Support is a Domiciliary Care organisation based in Porthcawl and working within the Borough of Bridgend. We provide support to clients in their homes and communities on behalf of Bridgend County Borough Council, and privately to self-funded or Direct Payments clients.

We offer a flexible service that centres around the needs of each person we work with, offering opportunities for clients to be supported in their home or taken out to enjoy activities; all enabling families to have valuable opportunities for respite.

We also offer an inclusive drop-in club on Saturdays at Trinity Church, plus a Day Club on Mondays and Thursdays for up to 10 clients who are referred to us by BCBC.

We are currently working on our brand new website! Please bear with us whilst we’re under construction.
Do contact us at [email protected] or 01656 782104, and visit our Facebook Page for further information and updates.

Story

Based in Porthcawl, in the County Borough of Bridgend, Trinity Care & Support is registered with CIW as a Domiciliary Care Provider. While our main client group is people with learning disabilities, we are also registered to provide care and support to older people, people with dementia or other mental health support needs, adults with a range of disabilities and also to support children and their families. We are one of the very few services in the area that can support children with care needs.

Mission

‘Mission Statement’
Providing respectful, personalized support to people with a disability and their careers, within a community of care.

The organization is based in Trinity Church, Porthcawl and, although we are no longer officially under the church umbrella, we maintain close links with the church family and are grateful for the continuing support of its members. We draw volunteers from the church, but our service is independently run by the board of trustees.
However, the ethos and core values of Trinity Care and Support are very much in line with Christian principles.

We began as Trinity Sitting Service, out of an initiative from the All-Wales strategy in January 1995 following a request from Bridgend County Social Services who were keen to offer voluntary sector services. The authority was aware of the well-established reputation of Trinity church for community outreach. There was already a luncheon club for the Elderly, a drop-in support group run by the Mental Health Team and a group of adults with Learning Disabilities met here every week.

Trinity Care and Support (TC&S) is a social Enterprise and is registered as a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee (Charity Number: 112680, Company Number 6629868).
TC&S is a social Enterprise, registered as a Charitable Company Limited by Guarantee.
Membership of the organization is open to Service Users and any other individual or organization that has an interest in our work. The Trustees, who have overall responsibility for the organization, are all volunteers and are elected from within the membership of the organization.

Our current service offer comprises a Domiciliary Respite Service, a Daytime opportunity club, and a Saturday club and our team of staff consists of a CIW Registered Manager, Service Manager, Care Club Leader, Administration Assistant, Casual Domiciliary care staff and support staff and care club assistants. All staff are suitably qualified and have been checked following regulations through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Statement of Purpose

The organisation provides support, via short-term respite sessions, to families caring for a person with a Learning Disability in the setting of their own homes. The service offers personal care.
The Service is able to provide a support package based on need as assessed by the Care Manager at the Bridgend Community Support Team or Disabled Children Team, for example to offer:
  • Support for full-time Carers to leave their dependants in the care of TC&S’ Support Workers, confident in their safety and welfare during the agreed time
  • Support and assistance in maintaining personal hygiene and domestic routines for the Service User
  • Support to provide the opportunity for the Service User to undertake an activity of choice, supported as necessary.
